Four very generous young Kiwis have said “Yes” to serve as NET missionaries in 2022. Eric, Anna, Christyna, and Caleb will soon arrive in the Hamilton Diocese as the 2022 Hamilton NET Team. After six weeks of initial training on the Sunshine Coast, north of Brisbane, the team will return to NZ and will begin their ministry.

This year the team will be based in Tauranga, where they will spend time working with students at Aquinas College and support parish youth initiatives.

The team will also hit the road, leading retreats for Campion College and John Paul College as well as spending time with students on campus at both St John’s College and Sacred Heart Girls’ College throughout the year. They will also be spending time with youth groups around the diocese. The team engages with young people through sharing testimonies, talks, dramas, games, and activities that encourage young people to be open to a relationship with Jesus and to help them think more deeply about their faith.

The four missionaries live an intentional schedule that focuses on building strong team relationships, deepening their own faith, and, of course, giving most of their time to serve the young people of this diocese.

If you see the team in Mass or around the diocese feel free to say “Hi” and introduce yourself: they love meeting people and are always happy to share a cup of tea and have a chat.

We are very blessed to have the gift of four full-time missionaries to invest in the faith life of the young people here in the Hamilton Diocese. You can join in the mission of the NET team by praying for them as they encourage young people to love Jesus and embrace the Church.
