The team that put together our Kete Kōrero magazine are thrilled to have won the following at the Australasian Religious Press Association Awards (ARPA) awards on Saturday 4th September:

- a Bronze award in the Best Regional Publication category

- a Silver award in the Best Original Photograph category (photo taken by Chad Fernando, page 3 of Nov-Jan 20/21 edition)

Thank you to all those that contribute their time and talents to producing the Kete Kōrero each edition and to all parishioners for sharing your stories with the team.

At the AGM held just prior to the awards, our Editor-in-Chief, Brigid Conroy, was appointed Communications Officer for ARPA, “I am grateful for the opportunity to connect with those working in Christian media across Australasia. There is a lot that our team can learn from other ARPA members”.

Congratulations also to our friends at NZCatholic for a Silver Award in the Best News Story category, and a Gold for Best Newspaper Cover; and our friends at Tui Motu for winning Bronze in the Best Feature Multiple Authors category.

Presented by ARPA president Sophia Sinclair, via Zoom, this was the second time that the awards have been held virtually due to the pandemic. Overall, 31 publications participated in this year’s awards with a total of 218 entries.
